AWC Motorsport Academy’s Andrew Walter has joined to develop the next generation of Tasmanian race drivers by announcing the formation of the AWC Motorsport Academy to contest rounds of the Australian Kart Championship and Rotax Pro Tour.


"Supporting and developing junior talent is vital to the long-term future of all sports, and I am proud to be able to launch the AWC Motorsport Academy." Walter said.


Walter's sponsorship has underlined the support that AWC Motorsport intends to provide to Karting in Tasmania. "The launch of the AWC Motorsport Academy will provide the perfect stepping stone for Tasmanian karters who wish to compete at the elite level in karting in Australia."

Chris Schofield has joined the team in 2017 in advisory roles as head of driver training and preparation and is regarded as one of the best mechanics in the business. 


Hugh Barter is excited to join AWC Motorsport Academy in 2019. “The people in the academy are very nice and very good environment. I am very happy to be in the academy”, says Hugh.


Hugh has jumped at the opportunity to learn under Schofield and is keen to work with him to achieve his goal of becoming ‘Australian Karting Champion’.
